Why Our Testing Matters

Unlike review sites that rely on broker-provided information, we open real accounts and deposit our own money. We place actual trades, make real withdrawals, and measure live spreads — not the idealized numbers brokers put on their websites.

Our testing process was designed to answer the questions traders actually ask: "Will my money be safe?", "What will I actually pay in fees?", and "Can I withdraw my profits without issues?"

Independence Guarantee: We do not accept payment from brokers to influence our ratings. While we may earn affiliate commissions, our ratings and testing results are never shared with brokers before publication. Read our full disclosure →

How We Calculate the Final Score
Final Score = (Safety × 0.35) + (Fees × 0.25) + (Platform × 0.20) + (Features × 0.15) + (Support × 0.05)

Each category is scored 1.0–5.0 internally, then multiplied by its weight. Safety & Regulation carries the highest weight (35%) because protecting your money is the most important factor. We cap scores at 4.9/5.0 — no broker is perfect.

Our 6-Phase Testing Process

Each broker review takes 20-30 days to complete across these phases

1

Account Opening & Verification

1-3 days

We open a real trading account with our own money. We document the entire registration process, KYC verification time, and any issues encountered.

Registration form complexity and time to complete
KYC verification speed (ID, proof of address, selfie)
Account type options and clarity of differences
Initial deposit process and available methods
Welcome experience and onboarding quality
2

Platform Testing & Execution

5-7 days

We trade on all available platforms, measuring execution speed, slippage, and testing over 30 features including charting tools, order types, and mobile apps.

Place 50+ trades across different market conditions
Measure average execution speed and slippage
Test all order types (market, limit, stop, trailing stop)
Compare advertised vs actual spreads during news events
Test platform stability during high-volatility periods
Mobile app feature parity with desktop
3

Deposit & Withdrawal Testing

3-5 days

We test multiple deposit and withdrawal methods, measuring processing times and checking for hidden fees. This is where many brokers fail our testing.

Test 3+ deposit methods (card, bank, e-wallet)
Measure actual withdrawal processing time
Check for undisclosed withdrawal fees or minimum amounts
Verify same-method withdrawal policy compliance
Test withdrawal during weekends and holidays
4

Fee Verification & Spread Measurement

7-14 days

We measure live spreads across major, minor, and exotic pairs at multiple times of day. We compare advertised spreads against actual spreads our testers experience.

Record spreads at market open, close, and during news
Compare standard vs ECN/raw spread accounts
Calculate total trading cost (spread + commission)
Verify overnight swap rates against stated rates
Test for spread widening during low-liquidity periods
5

Regulation & Safety Audit

1-2 days

We independently verify every regulatory claim by cross-referencing license numbers directly on regulator websites. We also check historical enforcement actions.

Verify license numbers on FCA/ASIC/CySEC registries
Check for any regulatory warnings or sanctions
Verify segregated account claims with banks named
Confirm investor compensation scheme membership
Review most recent financial audit if publicly available
6

Customer Support Testing

2-3 days

We contact support via every available channel with both simple and complex questions, measuring response time and resolution quality.

Live chat response time during business hours
Email response time and resolution quality
Phone support wait times and helpfulness
Weekend and holiday support availability
Technical question accuracy (spread calculation, margin)

Our Transparency Commitments

No Pay-for-Placement

Brokers cannot pay to improve their rating or ranking position. Our affiliate partnerships are separate from our editorial process.

Annual Re-Testing

We re-test every broker at least once per year. Ratings are updated when conditions change — spreads increase, regulation status changes, or new features are added.

Independent Team

Our editorial team has no relationship with broker sales teams. Affiliate managers never influence review content or ratings.

Negative Findings Published

If a broker fails our testing — slow withdrawals, hidden fees, poor execution — we publish it. We've downgraded brokers after receiving regulatory warnings.

Corrections Policy

If brokers or users identify errors in our data, we verify and correct within 48 hours. All corrections are noted with changelog dates.

Data-Driven Decisions

Every rating is backed by measurable data. We publish the specific data points that influence each category score, so you can verify our logic.

Testing Process FAQ

Yes. We open real accounts with our own funds, typically depositing $500-$2,000 per broker. We place real trades and make real withdrawals to verify the complete trading experience.

We perform a full re-test at least once per year. However, we update ratings immediately when significant changes occur — such as regulatory warnings, fee structure changes, or platform updates.

Absolutely not. Our ratings are based solely on our testing data. While we earn affiliate commissions from some brokers, this never influences our scores or rankings. Our editorial and commercial teams operate independently.

We record live spreads at multiple times throughout the day, including during major news events, market open/close, and low-liquidity periods. We compare these measured spreads against the broker's advertised spreads.

We publish the results regardless. If a broker has slow withdrawals, hidden fees, or regulatory issues, this is clearly stated in our review with specific evidence. We also add warning badges for brokers that score below 3.0/5.0.
